Traveling on the River today to La Roche-Guyon and then Vernon (Giverny).  La Roche-Guyon  grew around the Château de La Roche-Guyon, upon which historically it depended for its existence. The commune's population in 2019 was 479.  The present Château de La Roche-Guyon^[4] was built in the 12th century.  The village itself was charming and there was a picturesque walk that showed the artistic work of many impressionists that visited this village.

These are early morning pictures....tell me this doesn't look exactly like Monet's paintings?  

I suddenly understand what he was copying in many of his works...scenes in early morning mist....

Château de La Roche-Guyon had a beautiful meticulously maintained functioning garden with very old fruit trees and herbs...n  The isles were side and prestinely kept up.  It was calming just to walk through this garden.

The small village of just over 400 residence was charming as well.  And we were fortunate to wander the street before a lot of other tourists showed up.
